Let's not call it old. I prefer to think of it as 'VINTAGE'.
Cameras from the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's would be considered vintage; right?
Photos taken with Kodak (Brownie), Polaroid, Pentax, Minolta, and Hasselblad film cameras from decades ago.
Inspired by the Forgotten Main Street project.
Work has already begun on this project.
Vintage film photos have a certain look and feel. This is about real photos prints made from a film negative; not digital images made with a film filter or preset. The original scope of this project was to create an exhibition using a collection of our old prints. Then the scope was expanded to include new photos shot with film cameras.
In addition to the nostalgia of using a film camera, there is something to be said for the slower, more limited use of the shutter. When using a film camera, every click of the shutter has a cost. This forces a more disciplined, thoughtful, approach to shooting.
